Peak Addiction Recovery Center
Peak Addiction Recovery Center, primarily focused on inpatient treatment, is located in the Pikes Peak Region (Colorado Springs) in Colorado. Please visit "Our Facilities" page to learn more about our current campus and offices. PARC, a non-profit corporation, is committed to providing a foundation for recovery from substance abuse through education, support, spiritual discovery and recognition of the need for life-long involvement in a recovering community. This, we believe, fosters a life of health, prosperity and happiness.
PARC is committed to serving those who are genuinely seeking freedom from the bondage of substance abuse and addiction. PARC is dedicated to an inclusive and non-discriminatory policy for all adults actively seeking recovery from their addictions. Successful completion of the program will be dependent on the recovering addict's willingness to adopt a life-style based on the principles set forth in various twelve-step programs and to commit them to an on-going program in a community support system.
Our Beliefs and Our Commitments...
- Peak Addiction Recovery Center believes that untreated addiction will typically kill the individual addict or alcoholic.
- We believe that addiction is a clinically diagnosed illness - and that true freedom from this disease comes from complete sobriety and relearning how to live life on life's terms.
- We beleive that our clients' best chance of success is to receive treatment based on the most proven, effective treatment models in the world.
- We beleive that true recovery from addiction occurs on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels - and does not happen overnight.
- Peak Addiction Recovery Center is committed to providing the most viable, results-oriented treatment possible - at a rate that is reasonable and accessible.
- We are committed to building a treatment facility and organization that, at it's roots, is professional, stable, and respected.
- We are committed to providing treatment through a diverse, highly qualified staff.
- We are committed to explore other psychological issues that may be present with clients - and to treat these other issues appropriately.
- We are committed to prudent use of medications when necessary, but will never endorse "swapping" one addiction for another.
- We are committed to financial, corporate, individual, and environmental responsibility. It is our position that we must be examples of good stewards of our bodies, our blessings, our community position, and our planet.
Our Beginnings and Background...
Peak Addiction Recovery Center was created from the combined visions of founders Mr. Michael J McKelvey and Dr. Charles Stephens. Both Mr. McKelvey and Dr. Stephens had individual visions and saw the vast need for a comprehensive, residential treatment facility located in Colorado Springs. Both founders have witnessed, many times, the pain and suffering affiliated with addiction - to the individual addict as well as to those close to them and their community. The founders of PARC bring certification though the American Society of Addiction Medicine as well as a strong clinical and administrative background in this field. Being involved personally in the substance abuse community, their concern is on a heartfelt level. Dr. Stephens ran a successful family practice in Denver, Colorado for seventeen years and, after retiring from that practice, pursued his certification in the field of addiction medicine. Mr. McKelvey has extensive experience in treatment facility operations and nonprofit management. He has recently served as Site Director of a treatment facility for troubled teens, was Director of Admissions of a nonprofit college and most recently served as operations manager for a transitional housing organization.
