This includes an evaluation to determine the extent of the substance abuse problem and recommendations for treatment. This also includes family evaluations / interventions with or without the substance abuser, or recommendations to the family regarding coping with and / or providing support for addiction recovery
Adolescent Risk Reduction
Workshops for the adolescent and their parents which focus on risks involved in substance abuse and improving communication. Call to inquire about workshop availability. Seminars are provided several times a year with the focus of reducing the risk adolescent substance related problems. Check the upcoming events to see if one is scheduled.
Anger Management
Both weeklong group based workshops or private anger management counseling is available. The interventions are based on a cognitive-behavioral model, and rely on utilizing the educational material provided to identify personal anger triggers and coping skills
Codependency
Individual or group therapy focused on issues surrounding codepency. This includes helping people heal from inadequate or unhealthy boundaries
Continuing Care Group
This is a group for those who are maintaining their personal recovery, but want to continue to explore their history and work toward gaining further insights into their behavior, thoughts, and feelings
Couple's Therapy
Couple's therapy is for couple's who may be experiencing some stress in their relationship and want to improve their communication and their overall satisfaction in the relationship
Educational Presentations and Workshops
There are various educational groups and workshops provided. Check the upcoming events to see if any are scheduled, or call to express your interest and find out if one might be scheduled on site
Family Therapy
Family therapy focuses on the family system. It allows for all members to be involved in the process of change, and to work toward a healthier family unit. Althuogh many feel that family therapy is only necessary when there is a great deal of conflict in the family, this is not true. Often family therapy can be beneficila even when only one member is experiencing difficulty
Forensic Evaluation
Dr. Seely is Board Certified in Forensic Psychiatry. As such, he often works with the courts or its officers (attorneys) in providing a detailed, written forensic evaluation of each individual
Group Therapy
Group therapy is often the treatment of choice. It allows for members to experience a sense of relatedness, and keeps treatment costs down for the individual. Addiction Education Consultants has several groups, including an ongoing Intensive Outpatient Program for addiction, a continuing care group, and a partners group, which focuses on the feelings of partners when their loved one is addicted or in recovery. Other groups may be available, call to find out if a group you are interested in may be admitting new members
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is an hour-long session between the client and the therapist. Individual therapy is available for any issue, including addiction, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, codependency, sexual issues, or general stressors. There are several therapists for individual therapy on site
Psychiatric Evaluation / Consultation
Dr. Seely is Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, General Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Forensic Psychiatry. A psychiatric evaluation consists of a thorough evaluation by Dr. Seely to determine the nature of the problem and treatment recommendations
Psychiatric Therapy
Dr. Seely is one a handful of psychiatrists who provide psychiatric therapy, which is individual therapy with a psychiatrist. Sessions are scheduled weekly or biweekly and last either a half hour or an hour
