Vision Quest Center
About usHoward Lane has a strong financial and business background, with more than 22 years’ in the mortgage industry. He has been the CEO of many financial institutions. However, his personal experiences with alcohol and drug addiction have inspired his long term goal and vision of helping addicts and alcoholics get into a program of recovery and assist the families of loved ones needing supportive counseling and intervention services. As a Certified Relapse and Recovery Specialist, and Certified National Drug & Alcohol Interventionist, Howard has been inspired to help as many families as possible. Howard has a passion for saving lives. Combined with his deep level of understanding, compassion and communication skills is what sets Howard apart from the rest. Howard seeks to connect with families and their ‘loved ones’ that are suffering from the disease of addiction on the most intimate level. As an Interventionist, his goal is to create a drug & alcohol free family. Howard supports the detoxification, inpatient treatment and essential aftercare services by being present and accountable throughout the entire recovery process. Howard provides an essential ‘After care’ program, providing counseling services that help to ensure long term sobriety, maintaining contact at all times with the “Patient” and their family. Howard’s experiences have affirmed that addictive individuals benefit greatly from multi-track recovery programs including Holistic treatments and dual diagnosis programs.
In addition to Intervention & Recovery services, Howard is an Educator and is currently a facilitator working with the Court System teaching ' Drug and Alcohol Awareness ' classes for DUI Offenders in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
Howard has an excellent knowledge of the twelve step recovery process, regularly attending Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and works with alcoholics and addicts in the recovery process. Howard has been enjoying a vibrant and active sober lifestyle for more than 15 years. Additionally, Howard has volunteered much of his time assisting recovering individuals, speaking and chairing A.A. meetings on a regular basis, throughout the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County areas. Howard shares his experience, strength and hope so that others may recover from drugs and alcohol. This has been his true life’s passion. Providing support at various institutions has inspired him to work with individuals who are challenged such as MICA patients (mentally impaired, chemically addicted patients). Howard himself underwent treatment for drugs and alcohol, completing rehabilitation programs at three major New York-area hospitals, including Beth Israel Medical Center and Staten Island Hospital, as well as a 14-day inpatient treatment program at Veritas Villas in Kerhonkson, NY, in the early 1980s.
In support of his goals and vision, Howard completed a Transformational and Experiential training program at Summit Education in Plantation, Florida. Howard completed the Basic and Advanced Workshops as well as a Leadership Program (LP) which emphasizes individualized transformation through personal breakthroughs. Results are achieved based on thoughts, declarations and committed actions, making intimate connections, building trust and relationships and helping others transform themselves and achieve personal growth. In addition, Howard has been a training assistant and ‘Coach’ in the Summit Education Basic Workshop for entry level students providing individualized attention and support for its students. Mr. Lane earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York, and an Associate’s degree in Applied Science and Business Administration from the College of Staten Island.
