An innovative approach to the treatment and recovery
1) Community-Based Therapy Model & Community Meeting
A structured setting, under the direction of a counselor, designed to promote positive lifestyle change through peer reinforcement, behavioral modification, mutual support and respect. The daily Community meeting is attended by staff and residents and focuses on the attitudes of the community
2) Directional Therapy/Individual Counseling
The process by which a resident is guided, supported and directed by his or her counselor as he or she develops personal strategies and plans the course and expectation of treatment goals. It is designed to help residents build commitment throughout the process of behavior and attitude modification.
3) Motivational Counseling
A directed resident-centered approach that encourages behavioral change and attitude change by helping an individual explore and resolve his or her issues.
4) Task-Focused Activity
A therapeutic tool involving experiential learning process designed to promote self-esteem and responsibility.
5) Adventure Based Counseling
An action-based therapy model that incorporates problem-solving initiatives, teamwork and communication skills challenging and encouraging changes in the individual's faith, trust and commitment.
6) Spiritual Enhancement
A daily gathering that focuses on the benefits of a positive attitude; uplifting articles and readings are given by a counselor to encourage each individual to work on changing his or her attitude toward themselves and others.
7) Self-Help Orientation
An educational component that teaches and promotes the twelve-step principles and traditions.
8) Group Counseling
The daily meeting of individuals with their personal counselor that focuses on those issues facing each person individually as they work on their recovery.
9) Meditation, Art, Writing and Music Workshops
Optional daily activities, under the direction of a counselor, during which the individualcan best utilize his or her time in the recovery process through motivational resident-centered activities.
10) Gender-Specific Groups
Weekly meetings led by a counselor to explore those issues faced by male and female residents. It provides the opportunity to explore these issues in a private, gender-based atmosphere.
Regularly scheduledactivities (such as sports, exercise, music, quiet time) to help the individual to develop ways of relaxing and focusing on positive things to improve social skills and responsible recreational interactions.
